Anyone had a rear diff whine on their 4x4? Need a reliable shop recommendation.
My 2019 Pajero has started making this high-pitched whining noise from the back end, especially when I'm cruising at highway speeds. It gets louder the faster I go, and it's starting to drive me crazy, not to mention making me nervous about a potential breakdown. I've checked the diff oil level and it seems fine, so I'm worried it might be a bearing or the ring and pinion starting to wear out, which I've heard is a common issue on these SUVs after a certain mileage. I've heard that fixing a differential isn't like a regular service; it requires specialist tools and knowledge to set the gear mesh and bearing preload correctly, otherwise you'll just end up with the same problem again down the road . I'm in the Al Quoz area and looking for a workshop that genuinely knows their way around 4x4 drivetrains.
