I have been driving the same brand of battery for years now purely out of habit, never really questioned it, just replace with whatever the dealer had in stock last time and move on with my day. My current one is starting to show its age though, slower crank in the mornings and I noticed the headlights dimming slightly when the engine is idling which from what I understand usually means the battery is on its way out even if it has not fully failed yet. This time around I actually want to shop around a bit instead of just defaulting to the same thing, mostly because a colleague mentioned pricing on some other brands tends to be more reasonable without necessarily sacrificing quality, which caught my attention since I have never really compared options seriously before. He specifically brought up looking into a Genuine Kays car battery in Abu Dhabi as something worth considering, said a few people at his previous job used them on company vehicles and did not have complaints, though he admitted he has not personally run one himself so it was more secondhand info than a direct recommendation. I did some digging afterward and found a page through that had some details on Kays batteries specifically, mentioned specs and warranty terms which helped me get a slightly better picture, though I will admit I do not have a great frame of reference for how those numbers compare against the brand I have always used since I never really paid attention to specs before. Has anyone here actually run one of these long enough to speak to reliability, particularly through a full summer since that always seems to be the real stress test for any battery in this climate regardless of what the marketing claims. I am not trying to chase the cheapest option necessarily, I just want something that will not leave me stranded and feels like a reasonably safe bet compared to sticking with a familiar name purely out of comfort. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has made a similar switch recently and whether it ended up being a good decision or something they regretted after a year or so of actual use.
