Vibration under acceleration turned out to be the driveshaft
So for the past few months I've been chasing this weird shimmy that only happens when I accelerate from a stop or going up a hill, but coasting feels perfectly smooth. I changed tires, balanced wheels, even had an alignment done, but nothing fixed it. A friend who knows BMWs told me to check the center support bearing and the rubber guibo disc on the driveshaft, and sure enough when I got underneath the car the rubber coupling was cracked and the bearing felt loose. Took it to a general transmission shop and they quoted me for a whole new driveshaft which was insane. Then I found a place that actually rebuilds them and they explained that a proper Driveshaft Repair Workshop Dubai BMW can replace just the worn components like the bearing and flex disc for a fraction of the cost. Got it back yesterday and the vibration is completely gone, plus they balanced the shaft properly. If anyone else has that specific vibration that comes and goes with load, don't let anyone sell you a full assembly before checking those rubber parts first. Saved me a ton of money.
